After months in the works, this week finds us doing the final edits of the audio-book of Veronica’s Grave: A Daughter’s Memoir. The Audible version, narrated by Leslie S. Miller, will be released shortly on Amazon, iTunes and through other nationwide outlets.
Listening last week to Leslie’s reading of my memoir was a joy! I became so carried away, that it was as if I was listening to someone else’s story. So, who is this enchantress?
Originally from Boston, Leslie fell in love with the theater at an early age and went on to earn a BA in Theater at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In time, though, she relocated to the West Coast, where she has enjoyed appearing not only on stage but in T.V. and Film.
That bubbly youthful voice of hers, so perfect for the narrator of Veronica's Grave, has enabled her to branch into the voice-over world, narrating audio-books and voicing various commercial and T. V. spots. Her latest project is voicing Veronica's Grave, the audio-book due out in November.
By the way, I should tell you that the cover for the Audible book has been designed to meet Audible requirements by my friend and computer genius Paul Baxter.
What's also of interest is that this week, the New York Times Book Review included a section on audio-books for, as far as I know, the first time. This comes as more and more people are choosing audio-books as the most convenient way in which to "read" their books. Its a reading revolution.
Wishing all of you a joyful Thanksgiving with family and friends. That's all for this week guys and gals! Hope to see you next week, when I'll have the coffee ready.
Merci mille fois....à plus tard...Barbara
P.S. Will you take a second to share this post? By doing so, you will be helping me get out the word about the free audio-book. It would mean a lot to me.
